Afternoon Music at the Pit

It is happy hour in the Tavern, Willie Gordon is on the fiddle and Barnacle Bob singing and playing his piano. Owner Duncan Spriggs is at the extreme right side of the image while other locals partake of their afternoon libation. Past and present history mingle in the long shadow of the midnight sun.

Happy Hour In The Pit

It is the end of November and most locals are in from the bush, friends meet for a afternoon drink during happy hour. There are no strangers here, every person in this image is a local living in Dawson. There is a special familiarity in their friendships.

The music got so hot that Barnacle has three arms

 

This was the first panoramic image in the Tavern. It was taken on the 2004 music festival weekend when the bar was a little crazy .A special time for Dawson and the Tavern .The music was so hot the Barnacle grew a third arm.
